Custom Retrofit Projects- Geisel Library​

American Green Lights was contracted by the University of California San Diego Lighting Maintenance Staff to find a solution that would improve the lighting, reduce electricity usage, reduce maintenance costs and be easy to install.   


We designed and built hand-made prototype modules to determine proper fit, installation time, and lighting performance.  After a few modifications to the prototype, we reduced installation time to less than 15 minutes per fixture and improved light output by 20% and reduced electricity usage by 30%.  With 95 CRI High Color Rendering LEDs, the lighting performance and visibility was excellent and hands-down better than the original lighting.
