CBOT management was frustrated with the constant fluorescent tube replacements and poor low temperature light output of fluorescent lamps in the winter.  Fluorescent T8 lamps operate optimally at 75 degrees Fahrenheit and performance drops below 10% of optimal at sub freezing temperatures, a common winter issue in Chicago 


American Green Lights retrofitted the T8 fluorescents with our wing-type LED retrofit kit strips and drivers for a 65% electricity reduction and increased light output by 20% during the summer months and over 5X during the winter months

CBOT has several dozens of utility rooms, service rooms, mechanical rooms, pump rooms and other facility engineering areas, that need constant fluorescent tube replacements, with many areas operating 24/7.  


Utilizing American Green Lights 4ft LED retrofit kit strips to replace fluorescent tubes, CBOT engineers attached the strips to the fixtures in place of the fluorescent tubes saving the expense and time of replacing complete fixtures.  The high Color Rendering Index (CRI) of the strips improved overall visibility and safety within the service areas.
